“The hardest thing isn’t moving fast.
It’s knowing when you’re not ready yet
and choosing to become ready.”
The Story
Some pieces do not come from skill.
They come from honesty.
The Shift was born one of those nights when I had to face myself
not what I wanted to be, but what I really was.
We live in a world where we feel like we have to say “yes” to everything.
“Yes, I’m good enough.”
“Yes, I can do it.”
“Yes, I’m ready.”
But sometimes the truth is: Not yet.
And it takes more courage to say not yet than to fake a “yes.”
Why It Exists
I drew this piece after a moment when I had to walk away from something I was not ready to handle.
It hurt. I wanted to be able to say yes.
But deep down, I knew it would have been a lie.
So, I chose something else instead
to shift.
To turn “no” into “not yet.”
And “not yet” into a promise: I will get ready. I will grow. I will become capable.
That is what this piece is about.
The space between where you are and where you want to be.
The wisdom it takes to see that space clearly.
And the responsibility to cross it, step by step.
Artist’s Note
“The moment you say, ‘I’m not ready, but I will be’
that’s the shift that changes everything.”
The eye in The Shift is not watching the world.
It is watching you.
It is asking:
Are you aware of your potential?
Are you ready to step up when it is time?
I still carry this piece like a reminder:
Not everything needs to be answered today.
But everything worth answering deserves preparation.
