The Free Fall
“Sometimes the only way forward is down.
And sometimes falling is exactly what sets you free.”
The Story
This one this one came from a place I did not know how to speak about.
So I let the pencil speak instead.
Life had me by the throat.
Heartbreak. Loneliness. A fog that would not lift.
It felt like I was standing on the edge of something and the ground beneath me had vanished.
At first, I fought it.
I tried to hold on. To stay upright. To act like I was fine.
But the truth is: the more I fought, the heavier it became.
One day, something in me whispered: Let go.
Not give up. Not collapse.
Just surrender.
Let yourself fall through it, instead of trying to stand above it.
The Free Fall is about that moment.
That terrifying, freeing second when you stop fighting what hurts and allow yourself to feel it all.
Because on the other side of that fall is something softer than we expect maybe not happiness, but honesty and from there, healing begins.
Why It Exists
We live in a world that teaches us to stay strong.
To fight. To stand tall.
But nobody talks about the beauty of surrender.
Of letting life carry you through the dark places instead of resisting them.
The Free Fall exists for anyone who is tired of pretending they are okay.
For anyone standing on that invisible edge, clinging to air.
It says: It is okay to let go. It is okay to feel it all.
Sometimes falling is exactly what brings us back to ourselves.
Artist’s Note
“I drew this on a night when everything in me was crumbling and the second I stopped trying to hold it all together that’s when this piece started to breathe.”
It is not easy to live with open hands, to trust the fall.
But every time I do, I find there is more life, more depth, waiting below the surface.
If this piece speaks to you
if you are falling, or afraid to
know this:
You will land.
And sometimes the fall itself will be your greatest teacher.
Own the Print
The Free Fall is now available as a fine art print, for those who know the ache of release, and the quiet strength that follows.
Hang it where you can see it when life feels heavy.
Let it remind you:
It is okay to let go.
It is okay to fall, and you will rise.
