The Cured One.

The Cured One

“Sometimes we become the ones who heal others while quietly carrying wounds of our own.”

The Story

I have been thinking a lot about healing lately.
Not the kind where everything is fixed and perfect but the kind where you learn to stand tall again, even while carrying your scars.

The Cured One came from that space.
It started with a simple image in my head a sunflower.
A flower that always turns toward the light, even after facing storms.

But what struck me was not its strength it was its loneliness.

So many of us show up in the world like that sunflower.
Bright. Strong. A source of comfort for others.
But behind closed doors? We carry our own silent battles.

I wanted to capture that contrast the one between what the world sees, and what we feel.

Why It Exists

This piece exists because I have felt this story in my own bones.
Maybe you have too.

We play the role of the strong one. The helper. The one who uplifts others.
But at night when no one is watching we face our own emptiness. Our own ache.

The Cured One is a reminder:
Being the one who gives light does not mean you do not need it too.
It is okay to be vulnerable.
It is okay to feel lonely sometimes even if you’re the one other lean on.

You are allowed to seek healing, not just offer it.

Artist’s Note

When I felt both full and empty a strange in-between space.
The kind where you can help others but still feel lost yourself.”

As the sketch came to life, I realized:
The strongest ones often carry the heaviest unseen burdens.
But that does not make them broken. It makes them human.

If this piece reaches you maybe you are carrying both light and darkness too.
I hope it reminds you:
You are more than the weight you bear.
And even healers need healing.
