Kindness is strength misunderstood
The Story
When I moved to Berlin, I brought very little.
A suitcase. Some sketches.
And the quiet belief that kindness would always be enough.
I was wrong.
Sharing a room far away from home, with people who laughed in the same language but never felt like my own, I learned that kindness does not speak loudly enough for everyone to understand.
I learned that people often mistake silence for surrender.
Gentleness for weakness.
Respect for something fragile enough to step over.
They would joke loudly, cross lines casually, their voices harsh and edges sharp.
And I would sit quietly. Not because I had nothing to say—but because I had always been taught respect as strength.
To remain gentle even when provoked.
To answer cruelty with calmness, not because it is easy, but because that was who I’d chosen to be.
But kindness became heavier each day.
Like carrying something precious that nobody else valued.
Something misunderstood.
Something punished.
It is strange, isn’t it? How easily people take advantage of softness. How quickly the world turns purity into burden, generosity into expectation, silence into permission to hurt.
Maybe you have felt it too: when your gentleness made you invisible.
When kindness stopped feeling like strength and began feeling like a curse.
Yet even now, sitting in silence, still far from home, still misunderstood I remind myself:
Purity might feel heavy,
But it is also rare.
Precious, and perhaps, still, the strongest thing I carry.
Why It Exists
Blizzzl honors the quiet strength to remain kind in a harsh world.
Purity is a Curse. Reminds us that your gentleness is not weakness, and your quiet respect isn’t surrender. It is powerful precisely because it is misunderstood.
This print is your quiet rebellion. Your silent strength. Your reminder that kindness is fierce, even when unseen.
Artist’s Personal Note
“May this remind you that kindness isn’t easy—but it’s always worth it. Stay gentle, stay fierce.”
